Doyle Bluewater FiberLay

Doyle LPT Cruise

What is Fiberlay?

Fiberlay is a load-path reinforced sail that utilizes a light, stable base laminate material as a foundation for load bearing fibers arrayed from the corners of the sail. With 23 years of experience building yarn-bearing sails, Doyle Sailmakers provides a product with a long history of durability and performance.

The Fiberlay is a crosscut membrane that is shaped and seamed before the application of the load bearing fibers. The high load yarns run from corner to the opposite side to assure a smooth transition from panel to panel, and with the fibers crossing the seams there is no chance of seam creep or distortion.

Who is Fiberlay for?

Fiberlay is an economic alternative for the cruising sailor looking for a performance cruising option. Fiberlay is specifically targeted for boats from 22-45’ and the base fabrics chosen for Fiberlays represent the proper material composition for almost any boat in this range.
