DACRON
PANELED RACING SAILS
|
 Dacron
has become almost a generic name for polyester, but
as DuPont no longer makes Dacron yarn, the proper
name is polyester. A well made polyester sail still
represents one of the best values for many
sailors. For true weekender day sailors it
provides a very cost effective, long lasting sail.
For offshore sailors who are willing to give up a
bit of shape retention for durability, it can be a
very good choice. Polyester sails are like the
willow tree - they bend, but they seldom break.
