Joe
Klaasen is our Service Manager. He joined the Detroit team in
2000. He is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Computer Science. Joe supervises all service,
repairs and modifications that come in. His experience in all
aspects of sailmaking is one of the reasons so many sailors have
come to rely on Doyle Detroit for the highest quality and service.
Joe has established an
impressive sailing record. He has been an active one-design sailor
on his family’s Tartan Ten and J-105, Macho Duck. Macho Duck
has
been one of the top Detroit boats, winning and placing in most of
the regattas they competed in. They finished in the top 10 at
Nationals, NOOD’s, North Americans, Mackinacs and Great Lakes
Championships. Joe is now continuing that success campaigning his
family’s J-105. He can be seen on Lake St. Clair sailing with
customers on almost any given weeknight race for the entire
summer.
