Doyle Sails Captures 1st, 2nd and 4th at 2008 Central Lakes Opti Ice Championships

Doyle Sails Detroit has developed what we believe is the best Optimist Ice boat sail available.  We started with our New Zealand loft’s very successful Radial Medium soft water design and have gradually modified the shape to address the high speed and low drag characteristics of these boats.

The top two finishers Matthew Declercq and Grace Pytell used our latest Blue Ice design, while fourth place finisher Griffin Sherry used our early season design. Congratulation to all the kids!!!  It is amazing to see how much progress they have made this winter. If you a looking for a great winter time family activity we strongly suggest you join the Opti circuit next winter. This class has gone from no boats to 30 boats in one season and should more than double in 2009. Your children may think sailing is boring, but I will guarantee that sailing down wind a 45 kts is anything but boring!
