WINTER
WEEKNIGHT SAILING SERIES!
Thursday,
March 13, 2008 at 7:00 PM
The
Lloyd
Harbor Yacht Club
is sponsoring our next Winter
Weeknight Sailing Series as their annual
speaker’s night. It will take place at 7:00 PM on
Thursday, March 13th at
the loft
and all are welcome. It is a free event, and the LHYC will
have beer, wine and snacks for you, so please come on down. The
topic will be how
to develop, execute, monitor & modify a game plan for a
successful sailboat race.
I will
talk about available tools, both on and off the water, which you
can use to create a plan to get your boat around the “track”
first. The focus will be on the principals of tactics and reading
the racecourse so that you can position yourself against your
competition throughout the race towards a desirable result. This
should be a great presentation for all but the expert sailboat
racer.
Please
bring:
-
Friends
- Chairs
if you’d like a place to sit
-
Floor shoes (Socks, Slippers or Sandals with clean bottoms)
- Food
if you’d like something to eat
- LHYC
will have snacks for you, but you’re welcome to bring a
meal if you would like.
- Stuff
to drink (beer, wine, Dark
& Stormys…)
- Again,
the LHYC will have wire & beer available, but if
you’re a picky drinker you might want to bring something
of your own.
- You
might want to bring a note pad for this one
Please
contact Joseph Scarpulla, Vice
Commodore – LHYC, if you plan to attend at
631-673-8078 or respond send
an email.
Hoping
to see you all on the 13th.
