Doyle Lofts: Traverse City, MI

Bill Buchbinder, owner of Doyle Traverse City, has been involved with boating all his life. He grew up on Lake St. Clair in Michigan where his father was a boat carpenter.

Bill began sailing and sailmaking under the tutelage of Skip Boston in 1966, when he was 16 years old. Bill has many years of practical experience with sailing, sailmaking, custom boat canvas and boat reconstruction. This has given him a well rounded understanding of boat dynamics and mechanics to draw from when creating sails, canvas products or rigging for all types of boats.

Tom Babel has joined Doyle Sailmakers to further assist Bill Buchbinder’s Traverse City loft in providing unmatched sales and service in the Northern Michigan Area. Tom brings over thirty years of sailing, sail making and coaching experience to the Doyle Group.
