2009 Star World Championship

After the two races sailed on August 2 and 3 at Varberg, Sweden for the 2009 Star World Championship, Doyle powered Mark Mendelblatt and Mark Strube, USA 8267, were in 3rd with 12 points.
During the 2nd race, Mark Mendelblatt and Mark Strube led the 86-boat fleet until the second run when their 100 plus yard lead dwindled in the shifty conditions and they finished in 4th place.
Racing was canceled on Day 3, August 4th, due to lack of wind. Mendelblatt/Strube finished 2nd in Day 4's first race, the 3rd race of the series. At the end of Day 4 after 4 races, Mendelblatt/Strube were in 2nd overall. At the conclusion of the 6 race series, Mendelblatt/Stube came in 15th overall.
