The Class main is specified using the D-4 Process with Carbon and High Modulus Twaron. The sail is manufactured utilizing a UV Film for the ultimate durability. The UV film reduces the exposed light, which can lead to fiber breakdown. Viewing Windows in the foot and luff are standard. The Carbon and High Modulus Twaron fibers offer incredible thread line strength and efficiency, essential to handle the high leech loads of a large mainsail. The D4 layout is superior to any other process. Additional fibers can be placed in any area of the sail for added strength. The mainsail on the Farr 30 30 must cover a very broad range so it's ability to be powered up or bladed out will be critical. The backstay is the primary control for this function, and thus it will need to be adjusted frequently. Mainsail Includes:
