Farr 40 Sail Information
| Stratis Mainsail | P= 16.70 E= 5.90 |
The Class main is specified using the Stratis process with Carbon Fiber and High Modulus Twaron. The sail is manufactured utilizing a UV Film for the ultimate durability. The UV film reduces the exposed light, which can lead to fiber breakdown. The Carbon Fiber and High Modulus Twaron fibers offer incredible thread line strength and efficiency, essential to handle the high leach loads of a large mainsail. The Stratis layout is also superior to any other process. Additional fibers can be placed in any area of the sail for added strength. The only other system that allows for this is building the sail out of panels. The mainsail on the Farr-40 must cover a very broad range, its ability to be powered up or bladed out will be critical. The backstay is the primary control for this function, and thus it will need to be adjusted frequently. Mainsail Includes: 1 Full Top Batten, 6 Seaman Carbon Battens, Sail Numbers, Draft Stripes, Measurement, Class Logo and Turtle Bag |
