Fiber paths are applied 3 dimensionally to custom load calculations for every sail. Doyle's in house load and fiber distribution program is applied to calculate load paths. The end result - a smooth preshaped Stratis™ sail is fitted to the boat.

Plotting

The step of mapping the yarns from the design process to applying fiber to the base laminate is exact. A fully automated fiber bed allows for up to 18 yarns in each pass - faster than a conventional paneled sail can be cut out.

Lamination

3 years of research has resulted in an advanced vaccum system combined with direct pressure. Our method achieves the best laminate possible, short of production in outer space.
