Doyle Sails International management team include CEO, Mike Sanderson; Head of Design, Richard Bouzaid; and General Manager, David Duff.
The name Mike Sanderson will be familiar to anyone with an interest in yacht racing. Mike is a two-time Volvo Ocean Race winner, veteran of three America's Cup campaigns and was ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year in 2006. Mike also has extensive superyacht experience including taking the transatlantic monohull record on Mari Cha IV.
Mike brings with him to Doyle a wealth of experience having been involved in the technical side of sail programmes and as part of the design and build teams of both team ABN AMBRO boats as well as skippering ABN AMBRO ONE to one of the most convincing victories in the race's history. He uses his particular skills and experience to increase Doyle Sails New Zealand's profile in the Grand Prix sail yacht market.
The Bouzaid name is well known throughout the world's sailing fraternity. Richard's grandfather, Leo Bouzaid also started a sailmaking company in the early 1920's and his father Chris learned the trade and continued with the company merging with an international group in the 1970's.
Richard has been involved with America's Cup, Volvo 60 and Grand Prix campaigns as well as most One Design classes. As head designer at Doyle Sails New Zealand and Doyle International, Richard's wealth of experience offers significant advantages for Doyle customers. As one of the world's leading sail designers, Richard's technical knowledge and his experience with winning designs extends through both the local keelboat and international racing arenas.
A key member of the Doyle Sails New Zealand team since 2012, Duffy has a huge amount of competitive racing and sailing expertise. One of the best in the field, he has worked in management positions for multiple high-profile races, including six Americas Cup campaigns and several Volvo Ocean Races.
Prior to joining Doyle, he worked as Chief Operations Officer and Shore Operations Manager for Team Sanya in the 2012 VOR. Previous roles have included Shore Operations Director of TEAMORIGIN and Sail Team Manager of BMW Oracle Racing.
As Managing Director he oversees company operations, and assists with the implementation of new business strategies, operational planning, business growth and development, and special projects.
