DOYLE-POWERED TEAMS READY FOR HAMILTON ISLAND RACE WEEK.

It’s already August, and we are officially in full countdown mode for the 40th anniversary of one of Australia’s most prestigious sailing events. Hamilton Island Race Week, held in the bright blue hues of waters surrounding the Whitsunday Islands, is hard to beat. Sunshine and sparkling waters make it easy to see why teams come back year after year.

This year, a fantastic turnout of Doyle-powered teams will be in attendance; RP69 Moneypenny returning to the event with new owner Robert Appleyard at the helm. Appleyard is a long-time customer of Doyle Sails Perth and is joined by expert Will Hammond on board.

“Rob has put together a great crew and an exciting programme. We are very pleased and proud to be a part of that with the full back up of the Doyle Group.” Will Hammond says.

Wayne Seaward and his team on Cyan Moon are back again, having recently had a successful weekend of racing, claiming 1st on PHS in the Gold Coast to Mackay Race on the way up from Sydney.

Joining the local fleet is Ronald Epstein’s USA flagged JPK 11.80, the yacht only launched late 2024 ahead of the Sydney to Hobart has also had success in the past weeks of Gold Coast racing, with a 3rd on ORC at the Gold Coast to Mackay Race and 1st in Division 2 and 2nd in IRC Overall at the 2025 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race.

The 40th anniversary of Hamilton Island Race Week starts Sunday, 18th August, with a long passage race before the week of windward/leewards and passage races, along with various pop-up events and activations shoreside.

Doyle Sails will have our team on the ground for the event. Keep your eyes peeled for the 2025 limited edition T-shirts!
