Doyle-powered teams delivered another outstanding performance at TP52 Pallas Capital Gold Cup 2026, claiming all three podium positions across IRC Overall, TPR, and scratch results for Act 2 on Sydney Harbour.
Leading the charge was David Doherty’s Matador, securing overall victory with a performance defined by consistency. Close behind, Sebastian Bohm’s Smuggler took second place, while Shane Guanaria helming Zen completed the podium in third; highlighting the strength and depth of Doyle-powered campaigns across the fleet.

Act 2 unfolded over a demanding and dynamic weekend of racing on Sydney Harbour, testing teams across a wide range of conditions.
Saturday’s racing featured four contests sailed in a gusty and highly variable westerly breeze. With constant shifts in both pressure and direction, success depended on sharp tactical awareness—reading the breeze, capitalising on available pressure, and positioning for the next phase of the racecourse. It was a day where anticipation and execution proved decisive.
Sunday delivered a fitting conclusion, with three high-intensity races that pushed crews to maintain precision under pressure. As the series progressed, the leading teams demonstrated increasing control and confidence, converting opportunities into consistent results.
For Doherty’s Matador team, the regatta marks a significant step forward in their return to the TP52 Australia circuit. Their ability to combine consistency with race-winning pace underscores their status as a benchmark team within the fleet.
Act 2 of the Pallas Capital Gold Cup once again showcased the competitive edge, reliability, and performance of Doyle Sails technology at the highest level of grand prix racing.
