The 2025 Tre Golfi Sailing Week wrapped up in spectacular fashion with a final coastal race for the IMA Maxi European Championship, culminating in a vibrant prize-giving ceremony at the Regatta Village in Marina Piccola. Once again, Doyle-powered teams proved too good to beat, taking top honours across multiple divisions and securing their place at the forefront of Grand Prix Maxi Yacht racing.

In the IMA Tre Golfi Multihull Trophy, GAETANA (Gunboat 66, Pavoncelli Riccardo) dominated the competition with a flawless week of 1st place finishes, making a bold statement with their striking green Gunboat and unrivalled consistency.
Doyle Sails customers claimed four of the top five overall positions, cementing the brand’s position as the Sailmaker of Choice for the world’s most competitive race programs. This year’s regatta once again demonstrated the game-changing performance of Doyle’s cutting-edge innovations — particularly the Structured Luff Downwind sails and the newly introduced Hybrid filament/Stratis Grand Prix Elite technology.

Doyle Sails President Mike Sanderson comments, “Bella had a solid week of great racing by the whole team! Sorrento truly turned it on with spectacular sailing conditions, and again Doyle Sails was able to showcase our latest technologies as they have evolved.”
“Two of our latest developments couldn’t have been more on show in Sorrento this year, first debuting at this regatta last year was Doyle’s Structured Luff Asymmetric (SLA) sails on Bella Mente and this year they dominated the leaderboard across the majority of winners. Bella Mente, Jolt, Proteus, Galateia, Bullitt and My Song all have them in their inventories, with some boats with as many as three and four sails!!!, Sanderson continued. “With the huge range of wind speeds that were experienced on any given day, they (SLAs) were in a league of their own! These sails have a huge range, huge versatility and are light; however, intricately engineered, they maintain incredible strength.”
Sanderson also highlighted the role of Doyle Sails’ new Hybrid primary fibre, available in the Grand Prix Elite range, “With wind conditions in the long race ranging from 5 to 25 knots, our teams equipped with Hybrid jibs had the confidence to carry ‘J1’-style headsails, knowing they’d be fast, reliable, and race-ready again the next day.”
Richard Bouzaid, Design Director for Doyle Sails, was racing with George Sakellaris’ team on Proteus. “It was a fantastic week on the water, with some challenging conditions that really tested the skills of the owner-drivers—but it was a lot of fun. It was incredibly rewarding to see the Doyle-powered boats performing so well, winning nearly every major category. Most of these teams were using the latest Doyle Structured Luff Asymmetric sails, and more boats than ever are now equipped with our Hybrid mainsails and jibs. It’s a proud moment for everyone at Doyle Sails. Congratulations to all the Doyle-powered yachts.”
The Doyle Sails legacy continues to grow as the preferred sailmaker for teams pushing the boundaries of speed, design, and consistency on the water. With comprehensive wins across Maxi 1, Maxi 2, and Multihull classes, and a dominant showing in the overall standings, Doyle Sails has once again proven that when performance counts, there is no substitute.
