Doyle Sails Italy welcomes the top level sailor Francesco de Vita to their team, adding to their already experienced staff of sailor and sailmakers.
Francesco, hailing from a sailing family in Napoli, began sailing at a young age and progressed through various international sailing classes. At 18, he joined the Italian armed Sport Group, leading to his participation in the Soling Class, at the Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996. He has achieved World Championship titles in various classes and won multiple European and Italian Championships.
His sailing career continued to grow at the highest international levels and in 1999, Francesco joined the Mascalzone Latino America’s Cup Campaign; in the same year, he was part of the Italian Admirals Team “Breeze Italian Team.”
In 2007, he moved to South Africa, where he started working in the sailmaking industry, as a sail designer and project manager, focused on the quality of the finished products; notwithstanding the distance, Francesco continued to be part of important teams racing in Europe during the summer.
Thanks to his great experience in sailmaking and his success as a sailor, Francesco is an excellent addition to the Doyle Italy team, where he will be of help from the very first day in achieving the highest quality standards for products and service, for which Doyle Sails is renowned.
