Doyle Sails Newport was founded in 2020 by Alex Clegg, and brothers Rob and Dave MacMillan, the loft offers excellent facilities and expertise to serve the local and international yachting community. Cameron Appleton joined the leadership team in 2024, bolstering their squad of sail experts.
Led by Paul Tingle, the sailmakers at Doyle bring decades of experience to their craft and are one of the most respected and admired sailmaking teams in the world.
Rhode Island has a rich history of manufacturing in the maritime industry, and Newport is celebrated as the hub for American sailing. Given its longstanding yachting tradition, Newport is home to some of the most renowned yachts in the world.
Doyle Sails Newport was recognised by the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA) as the 2025 recipient of the Al Lubrano Leadership Award. A prestigious award that recognizes outstanding achievements, exceptional leadership, innovation, teamwork, and commitment to excellence in the manufacturing industry.
