Doyle Sails success at the 68th ORCV Melbourne to Apollo Bay Race

“The 68th ORCV Melbourne to Apollo Bay race was off after a delayed start of 10 mins on a chilly morning in 10-12 knots of breeze from the North, with 40 boats and some 280 crew onboard about to commence what turned out to be a glorious days sailing” commented the Race Director. Out of those 40 boats, Doyle Sails customers showed thier clear speed and tactical advantage over the rest to take the top spot in all divisions bar one, with a close second.

IRC – 1st place How Bizarre skippered by S Robinson and 3rd place Patriot skippered by  J Close

DHHC 1st place Saltair skippered by S  Allard

This was the 68th edition of the race run through the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria, the 52 mile coastal race from Queenscliff to Apollo Bay rounds out the summer racing calendar for the Ocean Racing Championship and Coastal Championship Series.  The Race Record of 05h 24m 04s is held by KAOS skippered by Peter Blake in 1999
