Doyle yachts dominate 2023 St Barths Bucket

High winds and big seas challenged the fleet of 25 Superyachts taking part in the 2023 St Barth’s Bucket, but Doyle-powered yachts dominated the results with winners across nearly all divisions.

After three days of intense racing, provisional results released show WINWIN as the winner of Class A: Les Gazelles, who have chosen to take full advantage of Doyle Sails’ Structured Luff technology. The 33.04 m yacht, built in Finland by Baltic Yachts and with Doyle Sails’ Scott Zebny onboard, recently made considerable modifications to both the rig and boat to allow for even more performance gains through the technology pioneered by Doyle Sails.

The competition was tight in Class B: Les Elegantes, with Doyle-powered MERAKI finishing second and only a point behind first place. Fellow Doyle yachts, RANGER and GITANA, finished third and fourth, respectively.

In Class C: Les Mademoiselles, NAKUPENDA started the event in fourth place after suffering from some steering issues but then went on to deliver two outstanding wins in races two and three, ultimately securing first place in their class with Doyle Sails experts David Duff and Stu Bannatyne onboard.

In Class E: L’Esprit 2, COLUMBIA, with Doyle Sails’ Tony Rey onboard, dominated the results with three wins from three races, finishing the event 7 points in front of second place.

The world’s largest sailing yachts come together in one of the world’s most iconic locations to participate in the pinnacle event of the Superyacht racing calendar. Steeped in history and opulence, hundreds of people descend on the island of St. Barths for three days of intense racing, including owners, sailors, crews, and guests.

For this year’s event, Doyle Sails proudly powers more than 50% of the fleet, with 14 out of 28 Superyachts ranging from 37 to 62m, preferring Doyle Sails.
