Overview

Matched to your yacht.

The choice of Nylite or Maxilite is determined by the size of your yacht and the conditions you want to sail in. Both fabrics have excellent resistance to tearing and good stretch resistance, giving you many years of great sailing performance.

Nylite and Maxilite are impregnated with a melamine finish and developed with the quality-conscious cruising sailor in mind. We combine different weights of compatible cloths to achieve the best strength-to-weight ratio for your spinnaker.

Nylite 90
48 g/m² · 30 × 40 denier

The lighter cloth. Specified for asymmetrics up to around eighteen metres of luff in medium air, and for smaller yachts in anything.

  • Luff to 59ft in medium
  • Luff to 39ft in heavy
  • Lightest option in the range
Maxilite 150
75 g/m² · 70 × 70 denier

The heavier cloth, at roughly half again the weight. It takes over as luff length grows or the breeze builds beyond what Nylite is specified for.

  • Luff from 69ft in medium
  • Luff from 49ft in heavy
  • Greater tear strength under load
Proven at the highest level

Since 1995, winners of the America’s Cup have always chosen the superior quality of Contender spinnaker cloth for their downwind sails, as did the winner of the most recent Ocean Race.

The balance of weight, stability and tear strength comes from the quality of the fibres, the weave and the finish.
