Overview

Tightly woven, highly stable.

If performance is what drives you out on the water, Square is made for you. Our premium polyester styles come into play when ultimate off-thread-line support is desired.

You will recognise Square at first glance by the ripstop pattern woven into the substrate, using 500 or 1000 denier yarns paired in both the warp and fill direction. That creates an extremely stable, strong fabric, even in lightweight versions, with a very firm HTP Plus finish.

Construction

A balanced construction.

Square’s recipe is a carefully balanced construction, woven with extra tightly packed small denier yarns. The result is strictly reduced stretch in all three directions.

Warp

Paired 500 or 1000 denier yarns along the length of the cloth.

Fill

Matched across the width, which is what makes the weave square.

Bias

The ripstop pattern holds the diagonal, where woven cloth usually gives.

Suitable for vertical and crosscut constructions in racing and cruising headsails, and a popular material for smaller mainsails.
