Sailmaking in Perth

Will Hammond started his sailing career at the age of 12 and has been running his own sail making business for the past 30 yea rs. He is regarded as one of the most experienced and successful sail makers in Perth. He trained in Sydney with Bob Fraser and worked in Auckland before returning to Perth to set up the forerunner to Doyle Sails WA.

Will has won Regatta Week, Offshore Championship, the Fremantle to Geraldton three times, the Australia Cup, and The Big Boat series in San Francisco. Will has also sailed in two Sydney-Hobart races, the Southern Cross Cup, Fremantle-Bali, China Sea Race Series and is at present helming the highly competitive BW36s Nimbus (Offshore) and F9 Needham Air on the Swan River.
