ABOUT THIS LOFT

Doyle Sails Queensland services South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales (Ballina to Gladstone).

Charles started sailing as a young boy starting in flying ants and moving to sailing skiffs in his teenage years. He completed his sail making apprenticeship with Halsey Lidgard in Sydney. When opportunity arose Charles moved to Queensland. He continued to make sails and started racing his own boat in local regattas on Moreton Bay. He also enjoys competing in bigger races such as the Bay to Bay, Brisbane to Gladstone and Sydney to Hobart.  After a small hiatus from the industry to pursue other interests, he returns to sail making joining Doyle Sails Queensland pursuing a career that combines his passion of sailing and making boats go fast.

FACILITIES

A 360m2 full production and service loft we are equipped to handle sails for vessels up to 75ft. With on site design, plotting & cutting, and using Australian made Cordes sewing machines that can handle the heaviest of tasks.
