Working in Doyle Sails will also give me the opportunity to team up with great sails experts and life-time friends”.

Salvo D’Amico, Managing Director Doyle Sails Italy, is very happy to have Casale joining the team: We are truly exited to have Andrea as part of our extraordinary group. The great career in professional sailing, together with the expertise and knowledge he has developed in sail-boat performance improving, will make Andrea play a key role in our team since the beginning, reflecting in the best way our motto “By sailor for sailor”.

Growing up in the picturesque coastal town of Genoa, Italy, sailing was more than a hobby for Andrea Casale. It was a way of life. At the age of ten, Casale embarked on a journey that would see him conquer the seas, moving from the small Optimist boats to the grandeur of Olympic campaigns.

With years of experience under his belt, he transitioned to the Olympic single-handed Laser Class, now known as ILCA7. During this time, he crossed paths with the legendary America’s Cup helmsman Francesco Bruni, a period that would prove to be inspiring and transformative.

Andrea Casale then set his sights on catamaran sailing, embarking on another Olympic campaign as helmsman on the fast Tornado, with Gabriele Bruni (Ganga), currently the coach of the Nacra Italian team, as his bowman. But his ambitions didn’t stop there.

Transitioning to One Design racing, Casale excelled in major classes, clinching victories in prestigious regattas such as the J-24 World Championship twice, the Melges20 World Championship, and most recently, the RS21 World Championship. He also made his mark in the grand prix circuits, competing in challenging classes like TP52s, Farr40s, Swan45s, Melges32, and most recently, Class40.

Alongside his success in One Design racing, Casale honed his offshore skills, participating in iconic 600-mile regattas such as the Sydney to Hobart, Fastnet Race, Newport to Bermuda, RORC Caribbean600, and Aegean600. His prowess on the water has seen him sail a diverse range of boats, from dinghies to 100+ footers.
