Sailmaking powerhouse Brian DeBrincat signs with Doyle Sails Newport.

Joining forces with a long line of some of the most talented sailmakers in New England, Brian DeBrincat announced today he would be adding his name to the already strong list of Grand Prix Sailmakers at Doyle Sails Newport.

Brian DeBrincat grew up learning to sail in Michigan and got his start in sailmaking at a few different lofts in the St. Clair Shores area. Prior to working at Doyle Sails, Brian has spent more than 16 years with Quantum Sails Annapolis and spent time working with America’s Cup team American Magic. In recent years Doyle Sails Newport has moved from strength to strength, now renowned as one of the leading Doyle Sails Grand Prix finishing lofts in the world, manufacturing 52 Super Series, Club Swan and Maxi sails, led by Grand Prix sailmaker Paul Tingle. Brian will join Paul to continue to strengthen production processes, build standards, and educate other lofts.

With over 40 years of Brian has extensive experience making and building America’s Cup sails, most recently joining American Magic. He was on the team that built several IACC sails for several teams, including America 3 in 1992 and 1995, Young America in 1995, One Australia in 1995, and Abracadabra in 2000. Brian has also built sails for Volvo and Whitbread Race competitors such as Brunel Sunergy, Swedish Match, Yamaha, and Endeavour.
He also worked with the TP52 team Warpath to finish and fit their entire sail inventory. Not only as a Sailmaker Brian has worked in Production management roles and as a sales expert.
