Congratulations to the 2022 Harken Young 88 National Champions, Dangerzone! Skipper Dean Barker and his crew of America’s Cup stalwarts have repeated their 2021 title win in emphatic style, winning 5 of the 7 races over the weekend and showing his experience in the lighter breeze. With a crew that included Jeremy Lomas, Richard Meecham, Ray Davies, Tony Rae and Dean Barker it was an impressive all-star crew to line up against.
Ahead of last years National Championship win, Dangerzone took delivery of a completely new set of Doyle sails with Dean commenting ahead of the regatta: “It was great to get back out on the water to race in the Young 88 Nationals. Dangerzone has a complete new inventory of Doyle sails with the latest design of the Structured Luff jibs. This gives the boat so much versatility across the wind range and made the boat very competitive in all conditions. I couldn’t be happier with the way the boat performed with the sails literally straight out of the bag. Huge credit to the team at Doyle’s”.
