COWES, UK // Doyle Sails customers delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Round the Island Race, claiming line honours and multiple podium finishes around the Isle of Wight in near-perfect Solent conditions.
With sunshine, steady breeze and thousands of spectators lining the shoreline, Doyle-powered PACE (VO70) stole the show, charging around the 50-nautical-mile course to claim line honours in spectacular fashion.

Among the standout IRC performances was Callisto, owned by Doyle Sails customer Jim Murray, which claimed victory in IRC Zero while also finishing eighth overall on line honours. Racing with a partial Doyle inventory aboard their new Fast 40, the team continues to build momentum ahead of the 2027 Admiral’s Cup campaign.
In IRC 2A, Anteren secured an impressive second place, with Andrew Bake—son of RC44 Team Aqua owner Chris Bake—among the crew, while fellow Doyle-powered yacht Further West finished sixth in the same competitive division.
Other strong Doyle-powered results included:
- Baraka GP – 6th, IRC Zero
- Dusty P – 11th, IRC 1A
- Skermisher – 8th, IRC 1A
- Mad Dash – 7th, IRC 1C
The annual Round the Island Race once again delivered spectacular racing, with ideal conditions allowing the fleet to enjoy fast sailing around one of the world’s most iconic race courses. From high-performance offshore racers to club competitors, Doyle-powered yachts were represented across the fleet, demonstrating the versatility and performance of Doyle Sails technology at every level of competition.
Congratulations to all Doyle-powered owners, skippers and crews on an excellent day of racing. We look forward to seeing many of these teams back on the Solent as the European racing season continues.
