Winners are grinners at J70 Worlds in Marina del Rey, California

Winner are grinners! RELATIVE OBSCURITY: Skipper Peter Duncan, trimmer Willem van Waay, tactician Victor Diaz de Leon, bow Morgan Trubovich.

Doyle Sails powered teams took the top two positions again at J70 World Championships this week at the California Yacht Club, Marina del Rey with light summer breeze which saw 62 teams sail in 8 races.

RELATIVE OBSCURITY came out on top with 42 points through the series, four points ahead of MIDLIFE CRISIS in 2nd place (also powered by Doyle Sails).

Relative Obscurity skippered by Peter Duncan with crew of Victor Diaz de Leon, Willem van Waay, Morgan Trubovich, have had a very successful season thus far with, 3rd place at the Pre-Worlds last week and 1st at North American Championships in May. Duncan also won the Puerto Cervo World Championships in 2017.

Midlife Crisis skippered by Bruce Golison, and his crew of Steve Hunt, Erik Shampain, Jeff Reynolds were pipped at the post with much more consistent results, however once race drops came into play they finished second overall. Bruce and his crew won the Pre-Worlds last week which saw a slightly stronger gradient throughout the week.

Doyle Sails powered results saw Doyle customers finish 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 19 of the top 20 in the fleet.
