Sail technology
Cableless
Our exclusive Cableless technology eliminates the torsion cable altogether. More luff projection, less weight, and a wider range of upwind and downwind angles. It began as a concept to test the boundaries of the cabled code sail, and it is now one of the most recognisable applications in the industry.

The secret
Let the sail carry its own luff.
An uninterrupted lens of unidirectional fibres runs through the luff of the sail, taking the load from the tack to the head. Instead of many tons of cable tension fighting to keep the luff tight, the load travels along the natural load path of the sail.
On a Cableless Code Zero the luff is pushed to windward, giving a far straighter luff for a fraction of the load, and letting you ease the luff and fly the sail for deeper angles.
When it is time to put it away, the bands of unidirectional Carbon running down the luff allow a quick bottom-up or top-down furl.
What you gain
Take the cable out and everything gets lighter.
Lower loads do not stop at the sail. They run back through the whole platform, so weight can come out of the mast, the rigging and the deck as well.
The luff is pushed to windward, so the sail flies further forward with a far straighter entry.
Ease the luff and fly the sail deeper. The usable range opens up both upwind and downwind.
Lower loads mean weight savings in the mast, rigging, bowsprit and deck systems.
Lighter sails, quick bottom-up or top-down furls, and a great deal less work for the crew.
Where it sails
On every kind of boat we build for.
Cableless started in Grand Prix racing and has worked its way across the range. What each market gains from it is different.

Long or short haul, light, easy to handle sails are changing the way cruising sailors can see the world.

Every Superyacht project we are involved with uses this technology to some extent, and some new builds take it to its full extent.

Ahead of the game
Ten years on the water, not on paper.
Cableless has been in development since 2016 and tested at the highest level of the sport ever since. Loads can be reduced by up to fifty per cent against a conventional code sail. It came out of what we already knew about engineering sails that save weight and handle enormous loads.
The STRATIS production process is what makes it possible. Running long, uninterrupted carbon fibres through the luff is not something a panelled sail can do.
