POLYESTER TAFFETA

Cruising sailors require sails that are easy to maintain and handle while being some of the most durable sails on the market. The Doyle Cruising Panelled sails are built with two layers of polyester taffeta which are laminated on both sides of a film-encapsulated scrim providing excellent warp reduction and great tear strength. The rugged taffetas covering the film and scrim are coated with a unique finish to improve UV resistance.

Vectran fibre, a high-modulus liquid crystal polymer, has long been an attractive yarn to use in performance cruising applications due to its almost unlimited flex life and excellent stretch resistance.
